She just spilt coffee on her table and her phone rang to the highest volume she could ever imagine! Her mind was as dizzy as the day was and her generic ringtone made it evidently vibrant. Once a while she did turn to a playlist and since it was failing her to get through whatever she had, she decided to visit the park. Sitting on a bench is one thing and sharing the bench with someone when you’re gloomy is altogether a different game! After certain cliched lines of conversation, unknowingly she talked about her violin class and the eyes of the man sparkled with joy; well it turned out that the man was a musician. Even though both of them lived in vague times, the conversation entailed in sensational pathway. The musician not only talked about music, he imbibed the essence of artistry into it.

He introduced her to a revolutionary phenomenon: the twofold pledge every artist took – one to her/his own self and another towards the society. He emphasized that Beethoven definitely might have embraced the notes within his own self; however he stayed with all of us when we needed the melancholy to speak thousands of words; we got expressed through the artistry and the artist lived within the creation. He reiterated that for being a musician there was no specific time; in fact from day-1, one could be a composer; it was the self-reliance and inquisitive nature of a person which did result in innovation of any form that could ever be perceived. He dwelled on the fact that it was the artist who galvanized human race with inspiration and all of us chose to be stimulated and inspired by artistry and hence it was the responsibility of the artist to be honest to his/her own creation.

The musician took a deep breath and with an untimely odd pause he stood up. At that very moment she just realized for last few minutes the musician managed to make her travel through a world of his own introspection. He took a glance at the horizon and said “it’s time! I need to go for my practice.” She smiled and enfolded her thoughts while the horizon was filled with a spectrum of strong vibes; “dusky horizon has all shades of red, isn’t it?” she asked and the musician corrected “it’s the kinetic pledge!”

P.S.: Contemporary artists are often lost in their facebook comments and in the mere outrage, the social media often offers. Hooliganism can be deeply propagated with loud social media people and often our potential artists are off-tracked from the pledge. The celestial beauty lies in the fact that time and beyond society will continue to keep faith in art and artists to channelize a change which often take form of revolution.  Conviction is governed by the society however humanity is enthralled by the Kinetic Pledge of the artist.
